1. Informational purposes only

All articles, charts, calculators, recommendations and other content on TV Dimension are provided for general informational and educational purposes. They do not constitute professional, engineering, architectural, electrical, medical or purchasing advice.

2. TV dimensions are estimates

Calculated width and height figures generally represent the visible screen area of a 16:9 display, derived from the diagonal measurement. They do not necessarily represent the television's full external dimensions. Bezels, casing, feet, stands and model design vary. Actual dimensions can also differ for non-16:9 displays.

Before purchasing, check the manufacturer's specifications for the exact model, including overall width and height, depth, stand footprint, weight, VESA mounting pattern and required clearances.

3. Viewing-distance recommendations

Viewing-distance estimates are starting points only. A comfortable distance depends on screen resolution, viewing angle, content, eyesight, personal preference, room lighting and seating arrangement. Different people may prefer different screen sizes at the same distance. Try the setup where possible and choose what feels comfortable.

4. Room-size and wall-fit calculations

Room calculators use the measurements and assumptions entered by the visitor. Results do not account for every real-world constraint, such as doors, windows, furniture, walkways, viewing obstructions, wall construction, sockets, ventilation or changing seating positions. A room's floor area alone does not determine the correct TV size.

5. Mounting-height and installation guidance

Mounting-height calculations are approximate layout aids. They do not determine whether a wall can safely support a television or bracket. Wall material, stud or masonry locations, fasteners, bracket design, TV mounting-hole offset, cable routing and local building requirements must be checked independently. Use a qualified installer where appropriate. Never rely on a calculator as confirmation that an installation is structurally safe.

6. Visualizations and on-screen previews

Any screen illustration or room visualization is an approximation. Display scaling, browser zoom, device screen size, image perspective, calibration inputs and photo angle can affect how a preview appears. Do not use an on-screen image as a substitute for tape-measure verification.
