Helping you choose a TV that fits your space.
TV Dimension is a practical resource for understanding television screen sizes, comparing dimensions and planning a comfortable viewing setup.
What TV Dimension is here to do
Choosing a television involves more than picking a diagonal screen size. You may need to consider how wide and tall the screen is, how far away you sit, how much wall space is available and how high the display should be mounted. TV Dimension brings those questions together in one place.
Our guides and calculators are designed to make these measurements easier to understand. They are educational planning tools—not product testing, engineering certification or personalised professional advice.
What you'll find here
TV size guides
Individual guides explain estimated 16:9 screen dimensions, viewing-distance considerations, room use and practical model-specific checks.
TV comparisons
Side-by-side comparisons show how two diagonal sizes differ in width, height and visible screen area.
Room and distance calculators
Interactive tools use your measurements to produce approximate starting points for screen selection and room planning.
Mounting guidance
Mounting-height information helps estimate screen position based on seating and eye level. Wall structure and bracket requirements still need independent verification.
How we approach measurements
Unless a guide says otherwise, screen width and height are calculated from a 16:9 display using its diagonal measurement. These are visible-screen estimates; they do not include the bezel, casing, feet or stand. Real television models can differ in external dimensions and design.
Viewing-distance suggestions are approximate and depend on resolution, viewing angle, content and personal preference. Room recommendations consider seating distance and usable wall space rather than relying on a single room-area rule.
Editorial principles
- Explain assumptions behind calculations wherever practical.
- Distinguish estimated screen dimensions from model-specific product specifications.
- Encourage readers to check manufacturer documentation before purchasing or installing a television.
- Keep recommendations useful, transparent and independent of any affiliate relationship.
